Work Where
Childhood Still Exists

Honey Bee Gardens Farm offers a small number of seasonal work opportunities for local teens who want to learn responsibility, confidence, and real-world skills in a positive outdoor environment.

First Jobs Should Mean Something...

For many young people, a first job is their first step into independence.

At Honey Bee Gardens Farm, we believe that the first job should feel safe, encouraging, and meaningful.

This is a working farm where young people:

- Learn responsibility

- Build confidence

- Work as part of a team

- Interact with families and children

- Spend their summer outdoors

We are proud to offer youth employment opportunities for our local community.

Illinois Youth Employment Requirements

We love giving young people the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain real work experience at Honey Bee Gardens Farm. Because many of our team members are students, we follow all Illinois youth employment laws.

Ages 13–15
Teens in this age group are welcome to apply, but Illinois requires a worker’s permit (employment certificate) before they can begin working.
This permit is issued through your child’s school or local Regional Office of
Education is a simple process that includes:

- Parent/guardian approval

- School approval

- Employer information (we provide this once hired)

Ages 16+
A worker’s permit is not required, but applicants must still meet our hiring and scheduling requirements.

Minimum hiring age: 13 years old.

If your child is excited to work outdoors, learn responsibility, and be part of a positive team environment, we would love to hear from them.
